Then they they silenced the moderates, but I did not say anything for I was not a moderate

Then they they silenced the allies, but I did not say anything for I was more than an ally

Then they they silenced the least marginalized, but I did not say anything for I was not the least marginalized

Then they they silenced the poorest, but I did not say anything for I was not poor

Then they they silenced me, and I had no one left to speak up for me.

The average leftist doesn't care about being silenced. As long as le society praises him and he has access to confort he won't complain.
