Sorry dudes, I tried, but I can't do it. I got a 4.0 with a dual degree - bachelor's in history and master's in education, to become a teacher. I paid my way through by working as an auto tech in a garage. Enough student teaching in a few public schools was already eye-opening enough. Then, being offered a salary that didn't even touch what I was making as a literal grease monkey, and I decided there was no way I was dedicating my life to that if they couldn't even appreciate someone who graduated first in his class (as we all know, teacher's union ensures a socialist system where all are treated equally, and no good teacher can be rewarded).

So, I took that 4.0 gpa and went on to get another graduate degree from an ivy league — I'll be a professor, I thought. Make more money, and more of a difference. Holy shit, my time at one of the "most elite institutions in the world," and there's a snowball's chance in hell. I'm fucking done. Sorry. Our education system is so fucked, that someone who literally wanted to do it for a career, and absolutely loves history, teaching, researching, etc, ran as far away as he could after his experiences.
