My understanding is that they're making sure no one with direct access to the innaguration stage and a gun are sympathetic to the people who were in the capitol looking for and threatening political targets.
It doesn't matter who's in charge, that is the sensible thing to do. Nobody wants to watch anybody get assissinated on Wednesday.
