You have a right to speak your thoughts. But the responsibility to choose your words carefully.
No you are under no obligation to choose your words because words alone are never a justification for physical violence if someone says something you find offensive then move on and ignore them but if you are physically attacked that's when you hit people and dueling because of percieved slights was outlawed for a reason

The only kind of speech that should be controlled are direct threats of violence or death everything else is protected by the first ammendment you have the absolute right to be as offensive as you can be the people who take offence have absolutely no right to put their hands on you for offending them period I do not agree with the left or mainstream media in any way but I will fight and die to protect their rights to say what they do say except for their overly violent rhetoric
You are absolutely correct. I also see the other side of the coin of harassment leading to violence. In a public space people should be able to utilize services without fear of having to be slandered without recourse. If someone keeps telling me to hit them and getting within striking distance I'm likely to be the person to grant that request. Don't poke a fucking bear and expect that bear to not finally snap.
And that is how we got a country murdered with simple Fake News narrative control.
