Well, if I were to guess, their silence is because there is nothing more they can, or even know to say.
They know how deep it goes, they're complicit, and most of them seem to know the majority of the nation stand against them; besides that, this is walking off scrip and their handlers don't have the "story" to feed them anymore; and even if they were getting snippets of a script to "report" - it might also stand to good reason they don't know who those troops are there for, and if the troops are there on Trump's behalf, they'd be risking a long jail sentence and a military tribunal for their complicity and participation in the theater of the DS if they get arrested.
(eg, fake news isn't being given it's scrip from the DS, ergo, no one is reporting on it, because there are no reporters in the msm, only paid actors larping as reporters.)

Don't disagree with anything you've said, regarding "traditional" reportage. But there's also an eerie absence of independent individuals sending out info. There was a little when the occupation began, but even that has gone dead quiet, at least from where I sit.
