One of the main characteristics of a totalitarian state: persecuition for political views masqueraded as battle with the enemy of the state (not the people, although communist regimes often conflate the state with the people, while oppressing the latter). This is not as bad if theres just a bunch of private kooks just tipping the FBI line. The real problem will be when the FBI acts on it.
