Who requested the military presence in DC?

Lot of chatter over on greatawakenings about the military presence in DC. They seem to think Trump has requested and coordinated the whole thing. Is that true? Did the biden admin request coordinate anything thats going on in DC right now?

I countered the naritive that maybe Trump didn't order all those troops in DC and got a day suspension on the GreatAwakening forum

Im still having a hard time making sense of it. Two things make the most sense to me:

  1. Trump has a trick up his sleeve and ordered it
  2. The dems are scared shitless and ordered it

Theres several different types of armed forces down there right now. As to who has the capability to order any/each of them I am not sure myself.
