A new fun trick i learned yesterday. My daughter's car had alternator failure. So, in talking with my long time friend and based Pede mechanic, the subject of Amazon came up. I told him i was going to drop my Prime account asap. He replied, " not me, i am going to continue to benefit from their crazy low costs for auto parts but i will individually order EVERY SINGLE PIECE AND PART, DOWN TO SCREW OR BOLT, in order to drive bezos' shipping costs through the roof". What would happen if everyone did this... :)

Nothing, those costs are calculated into pricing. Now buying items and returning for full refunds would be something. Here your not looking at wasting shipping, but time, and manpower. Plus your helping the people Amazon oppresses with a paycheck while Amazon get nothing. except an item that they now can't sell as "New" and has to reduce the price.
This. They would actually make more money if you ordered each part individually.
It's gonna take him a while to get any work done on his car.

While I see the logic in that, 90%+ of those auto parts are coming from China.
Want to hear some BS. Tax payers pay for Amazon's low shipping prices via Fedex and USPS. They made a deal with US government.
It has been like this since Amazon Prime started.
Note: I may not be up to date on this info, and things may have changed sometime over the past couple years.
Amazon pays nothing on shipping.
Previous administrations gave him shipping gibs.
Our prices would go through the roof, then we'd go elsewhere very likely. I thought about this, too. Every order that offers a free return, USE IT! Don't even open the f'n thing. bezos will still get his money though I am guessing. Or buy 2 of something, claim 1 didn't come, get the refund, start selling on craigs for a discounted. F'n idiots. They can so easily be wiped out if people would suffer a minor amount of inconvenience.
