It's easily my favorite book series. There's an TV adaptation on Amazon Prime, but they changed a lot of the characters and I don't think it's as good.
The genre is nearish future science fiction and it primarily takes place on slow space ships and space stations around the asteroid belt, Jupiter and Saturn. There's no alien races and a lot of human politics.
I'm probably going to read it, rather than watch it myself. Especially since this guy just told me the show isn't as good. Which is most often the case with shows or films based on a book series. It's just really hard to keep the same quality when adapting a book to film/TV. They're often good, but not quite as good as the books, which is to be expected.
Is The Expanse series good? What kind of books are they?

Interesting, will have to check it out.
I have also been recommended The Expanse recently. Have yet to start watching it, but have been told it's very good.
I have read the premise and it sounds really interesting: harvesting minerals from the kuiper belt.
