Personally I thought shifting from Quid Pro Joe to Sleepy Joe was a mistake.
Quid Pro Joe, asides from having the advantage of rhyming, seemed like an absolute slam-dunk in terms of an epithet - Drawing attention to just what a swamp-creature he is.
By contrast, Sleepy Joe painted him as ineffectual and harmless - Like somebody's grandad.
