Made one great album (Innervisions) and traded off it for the next 50 years. Deep thinking isn't a strong point with Stevie as evidenced by that unutterably stupid remark!
Songs in the Key of Life would like a word. Really, fuck Stevie Wonder the person, but Stevie Wonder the artist is quite talented. I still think I'd spin a Curtis album any day of the week, though.
Apols, KOL was good but nothing Wonder did even comes close to the Windy City's eternal King, Curtis Mayfield. I 1000% agree. The Impressions stuff is pure gold imho. They set the bar so high few if any ever crossed it. As a songwriter Curtis is without equal in black music history. Not sure if you are aware but Bob Marley worshipped The Impressions as did most of Jamaica's music makers. The early Wailers stuff is insanely influenced by Mayfield and the vocal harmonies him and the Ice Man created. We got great taste in music Fren. Elite I would say!

I've set off Wonder shit storm lol... yeah KOL was good but nowhere as good as Innervisions imho. That was elite tier. Extraordinarily good!
