In the interview he said he supported 2016 v1 Cruz and only started supporting Trump after he won.

To me, that explains a lot. This isn’t a pede who walked beside Trump despite the shit that went down before the election and possibly why he thought he’d be able to do an interview to get ahead of the fake news (Lol!)
