Some numbers for comparison:

  1. Troops that crossed the Delaware with Washington: 6000
  2. Troops sent in for second battle of Fallujah: 13,500
  3. US troops landed on D-Day: 73,000

Some more interesting stats:

  1. Estimated ratio required for irregular troops to achieve equal effectiveness to regular US ground troops (based on middle east statistics) 10:1
  2. Commonly accepted rule of thumb for attacker/defender strength ratio 3:1
  3. Implied size of invading force DC is currently prepared to repel: Approximately 2,000,000.
  4. Daily commuters into DC pre-covid: 400,000, 55% of whom use (currently shut down) public transportation systems. Note that DC is rather infamous for congestion.

Conclusion: Any force of patriots sufficient to take the capital would be stopped cold. By traffic.

So... what are all those dudes FOR?
