Good bye everything. Chicken feed is $20 a bag, sunflower seeds $20 and raw corn is $10. An 8 pack of AAA batteries is over $12. Here comes the birth pangs the bible spoke of. It's funny, everyone speaks of what Trump's going to do. What Pelosi will do, what Biden and Harris will do but no one's talking of what Jesus Christ is getting ready to do. Hold onto your butts, it's going to be a crazy ride.

Last year I was giving $3 at menards, then the asshats required people to wear masks and posted jack-boots at their doors. I called menards and told them they could fuck themselves. Haven't been back since.

Doubters should look at the yearly LBS commodity price. I've been building a pool house and can attest that the price of ALL construction goods has skyrocketed:

https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/commodities/lbs

Remember - commodity prices precede retail prices, and then retail prices take forever to come down (like oil and gas).

Lumber was as low as $260 last March, then shot up as high as $840 recently.

It's significantly affecting my ability to get supplies to complete this pool house. (Which is for my parents, really. Dad has Alzheimer's. Moving him close instead of into a home.)

$17 for one 2x4? Seriously?

What would cause the price to rise like that?

Ever heard of inflation. It's what oppressive governments do before they choose to take down their country and exterminate it's people.

Gonna keep going up.

I am in mfg and shipping costs are doubling.

Lumber specifically comes from Canada and is doing the same.

Get used to it folks, you are being priced out of independent life as you know it.

Find and use your local lumber yard. Better quality and better price. Once you try them you will never use lowes or home depot for lumber again.

The housing boom is why they went up.

I’m a home builder there is no housing boom. There could have been but the entire Washington deep state hates us.

The increased demand during a period where shipping and raw material processing was upended by reaction to china flu. Throw in a few hurricanes and it was a "perfect storm" of events and the industry has not yet recovered.

We had the same issue after Katrina and other storm events also. But this year several factors contributed.
