Here's just one example....Elizabeth Warren created a consumer watchdog agency. They had very plush offices, paid for with taxpayer money. Businesses who didn't pay her off with bribes were shut down. She then turned around and used that money to buy other politicians. That's why she had such a big voice in the world back then. Notice how quiet she's been lately? It's because Trump destroyed her money machine, and Warren can no longer buy influence.
