I always joke about this, but because of the 17th Amendment we took the Wisdom of Socrates, and decided that picking leaders the same way a High School picks a prom queen was better. Because it was "more fair".

Elect state leaders with a backbone, an insist they reassert their citizen's 10th Amendment Rights to self-governance. Start closing federal buildings, throwing federal agents on a 1 way flight back to DC, and ignoring Federal / SCOTUS rulings.
Liberal states have done that with immigration for two decades. We're going to have to for our 2A. You have to fight this at the local level. These people stop being cowards when they literally live down the block from you.
