Even if they don't follow Hollywood per se, they do make decisions based on their view of a person rather than what they actually do. Which is why they irrationally hated Trump. Because the only focused on his personality rather than the actual good actions. Style over substance. Same reason they loved Obama. Cause he looked right for them and sounded nice to them.
