way back in flatten the curve, they'd mark people falling off ladders, in car accidents, or 90 year olds passing away due to depression as COVID.

Now, they have tests to see if your body is fighting a coronavirus (like covid or the flu or the common cold) and we get to count all those cases now too.

people are actually getting sick, but if we only counted the people in actual respiratory distress and averaged that against the numbers from pnumonia or bad flu, we might see a different story.
