Are you in a position to homeschool your son? If you can make it work, do it.

No,. I'm practically a teacher's aide for him now, because I sit next to him while he does his class online, because he needs so much help with everything. It's NOT going well. He's very good at math, but he has a hard time with reading and ESPECIALLY with listening. My friends who homeschool tell me about great online programs, but he can't do online. He has to have someone there constantly refocusing him.

I understand. Maybe look into finding a homeschool co-op in your area? There are in person classes and field trips that usually happen throughout the year. Otherwise, do your best to remind him that teachers aren't always the best sources of impartial, honest information. Best of luck to you and Godspeed.
