I agree with everything you said except the CCP part. I am not denying they played a big and dirty part. But every time when people bring CCP into this type of discussions, I feel that we are losing the focus by shift responsibility from GOP or DEM to CCP. Remember, a country has no obligation to another one in terms of politics or ideology. The relationship between countries is always competition, conflicts, different types of wars, etc.
It is Dem and Gop that destroyed United States. They took money from CCP. They took money from anyone else who is willing to pay, middle east, Israel, EU. You name it.
