It would be a simple pause as opposed to moving forward with a potentially unelected official. It would make complete sense and ease tensions...just like evaluating all evidence transparently would have but it’s too late for that...Some people will not accept results on either side regardless, but if the evidence was fully explored and published like ‘Russia-gate’ there would be far fewer people disputing results and a far better atmosphere.
