I am completely and totally altering my budget. My family and I do ok for ourselves...
I am learning the need for safe data storage/ Hosting and internet traffic infrastructure. I hate seeing what's become of my country... what path do I need to take to dedicate my education to Cryptography and things of the like?
I am medically retired from the US Army, Started an R&D Firm, I am a very quick learner of any theory... What's puzzling me is where to start at, and what to graduate to once I have learned all the languages? I am currently learning dependencies in Python... I have a REMARKABLE amount of time on my hands and all I do is learn... guidance input please?
Learning code is good. Gives you a good understanding on how programs are developed, how they communicate and where security gaps exist. But it doesn't really teach you network infrastructure, hardware and security. Instruction around computer security, network security and computer forensics will teach you all you need to know about encryption and securing your network, data and hardware.
I can appreciate that very much. I will add this path. Tbh, until now I haven't given a glance at that. Thank you.
In the meantime, develop a backup strategy and routine for your important data. Python scripts can help you automate this. Make sure your strategy includes multiple offline and offsite copies of your data.
