I don't know about that anymore. Think about how many things were still fringe ideologies for the Left that, thanks to the rhetoric around President Trump and the lies they've been spinning for 4 years, are now mainstream left wing politics. They shoved the country so far left by demonizing President Trump and the right, in a way they never would have been able to with a Democrat in charge.

Was that the plan, or were they just taking advantage of a bad situation? We may mever know for sure.
