I wasn’t looking at it like that, money isn’t the problem. I wanted to use the promo code as a way to tell the company where his sales are coming from.
If I go directly to his site and purchase these then great, but it also tells him where he needs more marketing or where the marketing is effective when the code is used.
Tbh: I would have preferred a question during checkout “how did you hear about us” and then paid full price because in principal I completely agree with you.
