Session is great, but it will take a lot of time in my opinion to be somthing a lot of people are willing to use. It trades simplicity of use for maximum security for the end user... Not sure there are many people willing to leave the simolicity of signal for session
Call me troll all you want, but its true. You have to create sessions, like the name says, and invite every single one into it. Whereas with signal, you have their number, you contact them. Simple. Now dont get me wrong, session is 100% better then any other messaging app, but there are a lot of not tech savy people who might find it confusing and will opt for simplicity instead.

I know there is not a great selection of private and secure options. GrapheneOS requires a pixel phone and therefore trust and support of Google hardware. Libra 5 is my favorite option. Open hardware stack and OS.

Its waaaay better than the default image but you still have to trust google hardware.
