Many people get abortions because they are lied to and told that the baby is “Just a clump of cells”. I used to be one of those people. Luckily, I didn’t have an abortion, but I honestly don’t think I could live with myself now if I had.
It's one of the reasons you'll see so much vitriol from people who have had abortions. They feel guilty and regret what they've done, but they can't face it - so they lash out at everyone that reminds them of that fact. Glad you made it safely out of that dark valley.
Thank you. You described my experience so well! I also used to be overweight. I was completely in denial. While I wasn’t fat, I wasn’t healthy, and I started looking up all these reasons for weight gain (thyroid, allergies, etc.)
One day, a doctor literally called me fat and told me I needed to eat 1200 calories a day if I didn’t want to be fat. She’s from India, so she doesn’t suffer from political correctness. I hit my goal weight within one year.
That same process is what happened when I was Agnostic/Atheist. I was living in complete denial—finding reasons, labels, and excuses in order to keep doing whatever I wanted and in order to keep living the way I wanted to. The irony is that I was NOT happy then, and I am much happier now.
Those Elle (or whatever) covers with the fat women on them proclaiming how healthy it is must really infuriate you. Funny thing is not that long ago they had equally unhealthy anorexic women on the covers. Crazy times.

But to have actual DOCTORS saying that obesity is not a health problem? That is just outrageously wrong. And those doctors who say “everyone is born a different size” is WRONG. If you actually count your calories (in vs. out) you can control your weight very precisely.
My favorite is when you meet someone who is in their 30’s and wears a 00 and they say, “I eat WHATEVER I want!!”. Yes, Dear. I am a Size 2 and you aren’t fooling me!
Jesus didn’t come to the holy, the kings, priests, etc. he came to the sinners, the broken, the lost. Some people don’t know they have the choice to save a life until they’re shown how precious it is. Not all people are evil who don’t know what we know or believe what we believe. Some just need to be shown the way.
