It's not blackmail. It's politics. The Bureaucracy of DC absolutely hates Julian Assange especially the State Department and the CIA because he leaked the cables Bradley/Chelsea Manning gave him. Furthermore, Hillary hates him and although Hillary is out of power, she commands a loyal following in the D.C. bureaucracy...and the incoming Biden fraudulent Administration.

The establishment Republicans prefer the D.C. bureaucracy over the Republican base.
