president can grant a pardon for offences against the United States. In other words, he can grant pardons in all federal criminal cases. The nationality of the offender is immaterial.

The US wants to extradite him and try him in American courts. If Trump pardons Assange they will not be able to indite him on said charges.

He obviously has way too much dirt on them for him to ever be allowed free.

I wonder if he thinks it was all worth it in the end?

I have been wondering that as well. Can President Trump proactively pardon a person that gas not even been found guilty of a crime? Let alone, can he pardon a non citizen? Asking because I have no idea.

True dat.

On to my second question. Can he pardon a non citizen?

From what I have found out, yes he can. The only requirement that I see, is has to be for a Federal offense.

Pardon power extends to anyone charged with a crime against the United States. Citizenship is not necessary(looked it up).

America has an extradition request out for him. You don't do that without a charge. As I understand it, it's espionage.
