You can do it, you just have to go outside of the box. Don't look up generic HR job postings to figure out your requirements. There are a lot of people who are qualified to be HR in a small/medium business whose resumes won't survive the screening process because owners and managers don't know what to look for outside of those stupid templates.
Find someone who has directly managed a large number of people in their career (more than a thousand cumulative and at least 25 at a time) and chances are, they know enough to do the job. Send them to get whatever HR certifications you want, as long as they've managed people they know to check with legal on anything questionable and they'll figure out how to handle benefit reps and so on.

HR is the natural result of the 1964 civil rights act. It literally created a financial incentive for businesses to act woke lest they get sued. Having diversity programs and such is an "affirmative defense" to allegations of discrimination, which is why corporations have created diversity and inclusion officers and such. Their salary costs less than a lawsuit.

My boss used to hire without considering how the person would interact with the rest of the crew. Then he hired Tumblerina and lost 3 really good people he still hasnt been able to replace over a year later. Now he makes sure to bring potential hires around and have people they'd be working with talk with the person about what day to day is like and ask if they have any questions. He never asks us our opinions on the people, he can get an idea from hearing the conversation when the interviewee leaves. We've definitely got our share of Democrat voters in the work place, but we've been fortunate to fight off the woke invasion.

What I like to do is put on the local talk radio station in the waiting room and let the prospect sit there for about 15 to 20 minutes. Then when the interview commences, I escort my prospect to my office where he would see a portrait of Trump, a large American flag, a Bible, and a shelf full of conservative books.
If the prospect is triggered before even the first question, I've weeded that person out.

Now, somebody who would ask such a question clearly has expectations to the answer. If you avoid the question, it means you know he'd not like your honest answer, but it also means you'd prefer not to give a dishonest opinion. The other 2 options are to answer honestly or to answer dishonestly. The latter has a high chance to backfire as you may not know what the expectations are, the former is preferable as you can answer in a better way.
You could counter with a question: "Why would my answer matter to you? Are there issues with people of certain views?" - This could kick off a dialogue on the meta level. This may also impress, as you would navigate a possibly difficult question in a smart way. Once you know what the expectation is, you can give a good answer - or if it's where you'd be critical, you can ask "are you sure you want to hear my honest opinion?"
Your answers are good for us, but it depends on the interviewer's personality how to answer. I personally appreciate honesty, humor and saying edgy things. But many people tend to be overly serious. Also, elaborate answers and not strictly following their framework can be considered good as well.
I'd went for the meta stuff first, then hold a little essay about the subject, possibly causing a back-and-forth dialogue and asking questions myself.
As an employer I'd just want to be sure not to employ radical ideologues or hard leftists who are also lazy and incompetent. There are behavioral patterns, and an attitude of blaming others rather than oneself is a big red flag.
