They'll complain.. threaten lawsuits, demand things they don't earn, then sue you. Oh yes they will.
They'll demotivate your good people.
They'll trash you online anonymously.
They'll make you look bad. They'll lose your customers.
They'll steal.
They'll use their pay to degrade society by financially contributing to abhorrent causes and people through their purchases.

Would you not shoot a man who is trying to shoot you? I mean, we can both agree that under normal circumstances, shooting someone is both legally and morally wrong. But it is not wrong when you are doing it in defense against someone trying to shoot you. Right now, it's the same thing. Do you want to keep consistent for consistency's sake or do you want to survive and maintain a chance to win?
I've had this same conversation many times at this point, and I can't shake my pacifist tendencies to pre-emptively pull the trigger in self defense. But this case is different anyway, because I think it's too loose and fast to assume a liberal is trying to take you out simply for being liberal. I am myself classically liberal (which is basically conservative these days), but this has absolutely nothing to do with actual leftist thought.
In any case, I think people transcend group identity and I would rather not use an incredibly broad political leaning to define someone as bearing the collective guilt of the worst offenders. That's exactly how the left sees anyone right wing as literal nazis. Which is obviously wrong.
