Me and the wife are looking at properties north of Houston. Comments on the area in general? We are getting the fuck out of this blue state.

Great area north of Houston up to Arkansas, but Houston is a shithole, beware being too close. Louisiana has solid based people also. We can use the back up.

Look further East, Lumberton Texas, it's north of a smaller area called Beaumont Texas, or try Texas City near Galveston. Both have Hurricanes though.

Tyler is real nice too.

Houston, Austin, and Dallas are Liberal Cancer zones. Austin if you are wealth and already retired, Houston if you work in industry (engineer, chemist, etc.) Draw a line down the middle of Texas connecting the dots on Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio if it's more than 100 miles west of those its gonna be sandy desert land (but extremely cheap.)

If I was retired being a avid Woodland hunter I would pick Tyler area or east of Dallas while still far enough from the coast not to worry about storms.

Are you looking for Small town, moderate city, or crowded city? And jobs range from Industrial with engineering or chemistry, medical anywhere, teaching beware of large cities, farming and ranching need more open area in the east, etc.

Without posting too much info that will get either of us linked to the social media credit score no job list. With that info people could provide you with more relevant information. We're talking about a lot of area with 4 different climate zones.

FYI if weather bothers you look up Tornado Alley, and know about the Hurricanes on the Gulf Coast, look up Houston flooding etc. No real earthquake issues in Texas. Forest Fires do happen but not like California, better management.

North Houston relatively fine from recent flooding but still be sure you aren't moving into someone else's headache or home flip that is going to be under water, if you can get insurance for flooding probably fine (unlike Bridge City, and some of SE Houston).

DFW pede here. Just depends on what you’re looking for. I live in a suburb south of Dallas and enjoy it and my neighbors are great. Midlothian, Mansfield, Waxahachie are all pretty awesome choices The Northern suburbs other pedes have suggested are good too.

San Antonio is pretty awesome, and I have friends that live in “The Woodlands” north of Houston and it’s a pretty great area as well.

Traffic sucks in pretty much all cities, all the fucking liberal transplants can’t drive.

Are you set on the Houston area? If not, Hill Country is beautiful and very based. WSW of Austin, WNW of San Antonio.
