Nah, Snowden is an American hero and even if his pardon is a symbolic one it is still important to a lot of people. Assange is a lost cause, but a symbolic pardon would mean a lot.

Also, what if there is someone sitting at home right now stressed out because they know the real truth about something big in the election but they are afraid to speak out because they saw how whistleblowers are treated. A pardon of two high profile whistleblowers might be enough to inspire more people to do the same.

Whistleblowers are a more powerful tool at draining the swamp than any president getting elected.

Then those potential future whistleblowers should look at what actually happened due to snowden and assange in the real world.

Nothing.

Crooks who went to jail: zero
People who got killed for being involved in the leaking: not zero
Money spent to harden information security: lots n lots of zeros.

All that and you might get a symbolic pardon? That's a bad joke.

And the msm barely admits they exist at all other than as a tool to demonize the people on 'the other side'.

I have unreasonable hope for tomorrow. But after that the black pill will just be reality. :|

My hope is that Biden learns what Trump meant when he said "be careful what you wish for" and is impeached on day 1 for either spygate, the ukraine fiasco, the laptop from hell, the intel leak to china after his first meeting he sat in on, or the 100 other impeachable offenses. 0.000001% chance of that happening, but it would be nice. They are setting the bar pretty low on "incitement of violence" with this last impeachment though, I have heard Biden already say WAAAAY worse things than Trump in terms of riling up an angry mob.

Wrong. Assange for one, woke many people up. Exposed their corruption. That is priceless, imo.

You're crazy if you think Snowden and Assange had no impact in the real world. There's a reason the Deep State doesn't want even a symbolic pardon for either.

Seth Rich was a very famous whistleblower and look what happened to him.

The sad reality is that the fact that all these people posting here all have to guess and come up with their own theories only proves that we are far from living in an open democracy.

We don't. We had a constitutional republic...mob rule is wanted by the mob which is what a democracy is.

Snowden released a data dump of secrets, the majority of which were unrelated to spying on citizens. He doesn't know the extent of the damage he did with his skin data dump. Truly traitorous, not heroic. Don't believe the media on snowden - they want Russia and China to have info on how to protect themselves.
