He fumbled a lot. His biggest problem is that he doesn't trust anyone except his family. In particular Jared and Ivanka Kushner are not only democrats but their loyalty is to Israel and not America.

While Trump is his own man and I don't think he is totally under their control, tremendous amounts of bad decisions were as a result of Jared Kushner playing to favour Israel and his friends.

Trump was getting great advice from his loyalists especially at the beginning including to leave Twitter for Gab or whatever, but Jared simply told him not to and Trump listens to Jared.

His family kept him surrounded by the deep state as well and I would not be surprised if Jarde & co were the main people that pushed trump to get rid of his loyalists and to not fire Obamas people on the first day in office.
