Umm McConnell can't impeach a former President
It's absolutely possible to impeach a former president.
No one of the Senators said they can't convict a non-President and keep him from running again.
And you didn't exercise due diligence and check to see for yourself? I recommend a website ending in dot gov so you can see for yourself that former office holders can indeed be impeached.
