It's absolutely possible to impeach a former president.

No one of the Senators said they can't convict a non-President and keep him from running again.

And you didn't exercise due diligence and check to see for yourself? I recommend a website ending in dot gov so you can see for yourself that former office holders can indeed be impeached.

This article says the Senate can, but it clearly shows that there aren't firm grounds in the Constitution saying whether they can or not.

I think Trump could definitely and legally defend himself in this regard.
