It is sickening that DJT said that and did absolutely nothing with his presidential powers about it, this sentence alone shows that he understood the gravity of the situation.
The Question is why did he do nothing, maybe he tried to go to the insurrection act/martial law route and was simply told no by the military? Maybe the deep state threatened to hunt his family down until the end of time if he doesn't stand down?
My personal opinion is that Trump believed and listened to his lawyers that told him to go to the politics/court options and once that failed he was simply afraid of being called a dictator on TV 24/7 if he went scorched earth, he was always really obsessed with what the media says about him and with the media in general.
Yes that's a good point, I never really thought about him being afraid of public / media opinion cuz he took so much bs for years from them that I assumed he didn't give a shit anymore.
