Here's the difference. Aside from Polish culture, their overlords were just puppets prooped up by a foreign empire, and that foreign empire was already rapidly in decline. Here, we have a fractured culture, an arguably defeated and depressed culture, and face an ascendent, openly militant and hostile left which controls all levers of power and with a surveillance state unrivaled by even the worst dictatorships of the past. Sure, their hubris and pure insanity do them no favors, and entropy will surely set it. But at that point, what really will remain of true Americans?
