Personally, I imagine a swampy, murky body of water, where the water is dark and you cannot see the bottom. Would be pretty scary to go across, right? It's a basic human instinct - we fear the unknown.
Now imagine all of that murky water starts draining away. You slowly begin to see what's in the swamp. And, unfortunately, your fears weren't unfounded. The swamp is full of gremlins, swamp creatures start emerging from their safe hiding spots that were once underwater.
Now, what happens to any living creature on this planet when you suddenly take away it's home and the feeling of safety? They start to panic, the fight or flight response kicks in.
And your fear of the unknown has gone away. You now have many different options - you can plan the most viable path to cross the swamp, you can fight the gremlins, most of them might just run away.
Trump HAS drained the swamp. We know every traitor by name, we know their crimes, we know the extent of their degeneracy, and we are no longer fighting against an invisible enemy. They fear our knowledge, in fact they cannot function with us knowing. All of their tricks that have worked for decades have been exposed and have become useless. The whole world knows, even my 79 year old grandmother and grandpa know and share these things with their close friends. The swamp has been drained, all of the creatures living there are in full view for the world to see.

In my world, not that many. They still idolize and worship them same as before. Sure, those who were already skeptical of gov't may be further convinced, etc, but I'd hardly count that as a resounding win.
MAGA Americans banded together to support GEOTUS in record numbers and what do we have to show for it? A giant fucking "L" because at the end of the day, the swamp actually drained us from having any political power for the foreseeable future.
The "libtards" are also part of the swamp that was exposed. Most that I know are glad Trump was robbed. These people know that the system is corrupt to the core and don't care because they hate this country and EVERYTHING it stands for.
I think your analogy is really good. I only disagree to a point. I think that although many swamp creatures have been exposed, they have long taken this into consideration. And I know it is a stretch in your analogy, but - I think they have had a rain machine and a fence company waiting for this moment; complete with a turnstyle of people that are already caught in line to be devoured.
That is not as doomer as it seems, we can now see through Rinos (even independepents like Rand Paul), Judges and media (even 'free' media end up parroting talking points). It does expose what the average person is up against.
Knowing that... we can always build towns and have community away from the 'choice' swamp land. I think short of full on forced restructuring, walking away and civil disobedience might be slower but the only way to win.

Good analogy. But one thing is missing. Our corrupt and lying media. So while the swamp creatures are now exposed, our media are doing their best to divert our attention. Don't look at the swamp, look at the jungle. Or to steal a line from the Wizard of Oz, "Ignore the man behind the curtain". So we need to do our best to get those who rely solely on MSM for information to actually look and see the swamp, and more importantly, what's in it.
Trump also showed us the the MSM is at the bottom of the swamp with the rest.

He hasn't. No one was fired from the CIA. The FBI wasn't disbanded. They stole the election, in the most blatant case of election fraud in U.S. history, and Trump just walked out the door. He didn't have covert agents in every election place recording the blatant fraud. He didn't repeal Section 230 of the CDA. He was a great president, but sadly, no...he didn't come close to draining the swamp and if he did, he'd still be in office. Try again.

I HAVE read your post and it is spot on. The fear remains because the gremlins can still come after us, but at least we see it coming...I think all of us risked being Trump supporters, but we did it for good reason. I have read Gulag Archipelago, and they will come after EVERYONE eventually. I would rather go down swinging than on my knees. Thanks for the post!

You're right, he did say drain the swamp, not clean it up/remove it. (I should have been paying closer attention.)
He did pull the "sunlight is the best disinfectant" trick, because they are scurrying like roaches with the light switched on. We now know who the RINOs are, and know they will side with the Leftist Agenda. The DNC/RINO/MSM/Soros alliance were forced to commit obvious blatant election fraud to stay in power. MSM exposed themselves (this time, not to a surprised co-worker or young child, but to the public) as having no credibility whatsoever, even Fox "news" choosing to sacrifice their record-high ratings by abruptly imitating CNN's programming (resulting in similarly low ratings.)
