Many did suffer under lockdowns and economic peril brought by the governors of their state but the federal government never took part in that. And as of right now, I believe unemployment is still lower than 4 years ago despite many governors forcing people out of work.
Edit: current unemployment is 6.7% and the unemployment in January of 2017 was 4.8%. Considering the democrat governor imposed economic slaughter, that is pretty good.

And as of right now, I believe unemployment is still lower than 4 years ago despite many governors forcing people out of work.
