While the "turn the other cheek" verse is VERY much misunderstood/misinterpreted the link you posted got it wrong as well.
Not only was it written by a woman (no bias there right?) who has no idea what she is talking about it was written by a Western woman who has never been in a fight or understand the violent hierarchy that exists in every man's life. Threat of violence is always there.

The turn the other cheek is a metaphor for not immediately retaliating because someone is rude or insults you (a slap in the face).
Christians are not meant to be doormats or allow people to hurt them or others.
Turning the other cheek does not imply pacifism, nor does it mean we place ourselves or others in danger. Jesusโ command to turn the other cheek is simply a command to forgo retaliation for personal offenses. He was not setting government foreign policy, and He was not throwing out the judicial system. Crimes can still be prosecuted, and wars can still be waged
