While I agree with the idea in principle, it is logistically problematic. A nationalist populist movement would certainly capture more segments of the Republican base than the libertarians ever managed, however, a split conservative vote would ensure liberal control for many years to come.
Of course, that doesn’t matter when democrats can cheat on the scale they do now.
The present Republican party is actually just controlled opposition. They did nothing about the stolen election and they will do nothing in the future.
Maybe a BIG bet on a third party starting asap is the best option, with 2 years to work on and betting on the destructive Ds agenda that will surely came will attract enough people from the Rs, Is and "normal" Ds to be part of the midterm election.
I know, it's a BIG bet, but when you have nothing in your hand you have to change the cards...
