There was never a chance to win this by conventional means. You can not win against a cheater in a system that is already rigged against you. Only shot he had was to cross the Rubicon, shutdown all the Fake News by order and declare a National Emergency or similiar. Sadly he didn't do that. It would have been very ugly & bad optics and likely thats why he refused.
