It's not the military's job to make political decisions. The military is apolitical and answers to civilian authority. Asking the military to make political decisions is equally as offensive as vetting them for political leanings and ultimately would wreck the country. The military did exactly what they were supposed to do under the US Constitution in a difficult situation. The military are not at all to blame here. The blame lies entirely with the civilian authorities like the politicians, judges, and three letter agencies.
