I live in Illinois and they already started the gradual increase to $15.00/hr a year or two ago, which will effectively almost double the pay of the lowest-paid workers. It just went up to $11 on Jan 1, and will go up another dollar every year until it hits $15. There is a preschool/daycare where I work, and they sent out letters to the parents telling them tuition rates are going up because of the minimum wage increase. (and they will probably have to go up every year).

Of course, those of us making over $15 aren't going to see our pay go up the same amount. I only make a few dollars more, and didn't get a raise at all this year. None of us did.
