See, now this is actually valuable information. You actually went and got an actual reason for machines, and now your county has an actual choice. It's a sucky choice, but the loss of money is so worth having real elections.
I and my husband are in the careful selection of a job/rural county and then it is time to bite the bullet and run for some election board.
Every good person I know that would be valuable in politics has always said, "I'm not getting involved in politics, it's a cesspit of corruption!" I get that, it is, but that is exactly WHY we need those good people in those roles, so the corrupt people DON'T get into those positions. Took half my life, but now we are committed to get involved. If it takes the rest of my life to turn it, it will be a life well spent.
Yes... I don't want the money for the county if it means we have no voice. Trying to figure out if county clerk is the best route for this? I just want a fair election. Its ok more of my family decided his instead of what I wanted to do..ok....but rigged not ok! Any websites to navigate this better?
I have no idea, I don't even know what a county clerk does. I have so much to learn. But if even a tenth of us take a position, that's maybe 8-10 million positions, that would be HUGE.
I agree. Some of us know a lot about business and dick about local politics but it can’t be hard to learn. Probably books everywhere about it. I could Amazon search it but prefer not to. Any ideas on good starter books for getting into local politics?
