This is something I'm concerned about regarding secession. If we successfully secede and form our own country with the constitution preserved, what will that mean in regards to our military?

Will so-called 'Trump loyalists' disband from the ones supporting the establishment and socialist democrats, effectively cutting our military in half (maybe 60-70% actually)? That wouldn't be ideal, I imagine.

Will the entire military end up having to join us if enough high ranking officials call for it?

Will the opposite of that happen, and we might instantly be considered an enemy nation and thus instantly invaded by both our former own military and a potential offshore enemy?

Or will the military promise to defend us regardless of our secession?

I'm not an expert on how all this works, so I'm just looking for answers on this concern of mine.

All loyal Texans who are in the military will join the new Texas armed forces, and Texas will also have it's National Guard.

Also, Texas will own all military bases that it has already

That's still splitting a fraction of said military. If the military is divided in any capacity, it's entirely possible an outside force could take advantage of that.

If Texas plans well, it can form a worldpower military the day it secedes.

Think of it. You have a huge amount of airforce and army bases as well as naval bases in Texas. You have now rocket bases with SpaceX technology all located in Texas. You have basically all of America's military might and technology all in that State. You probably will want a few other states to join to make up a bit, but I don't think Texas will have any problem becoming a world power

Those bases are considered federal ground. Everything in them would belong to federal govt. They would have to be removed. Secession would never happen bwcause fed govt will just pressure politicians to not secede or start Arkanciding them. There would also likely be a military strike on Texas to reclaim it for the federal govt

Keep in mind that if TX were to secede, the entire south would probably follow. Leaving the 21 trillion dollar debt to the West and North states with 40-50% of the GDP gone.

That's why it will never happen. The Federal Reserve will never let that happen, and they will pay off and disrupt every effort along with stealing the vote to prevent it

I know that's a very real concern in itself, but I'm asking about what will happen to our own military in the event a split actually does happen.

I heard somewhere a long time ago, that if a state secedes it has to pay it's portion of the National Debt. Just saying. Might be wrong.

Maybe the states that signed in to that large Supreme Court case?

That wasn't what I asked.

“(Ideally what other states follow)”

With.

I would imagine Texas natives would have the option of forming their own, and some returning from the national military opt out and join Texas, and Texas taxes would stay in Texas...no more fed taxes.

1

There is no opting out. When you are in the military you are government property. They will move you to a different unit. But, the federal gov't would never allow for a secession

The land that China owns will be used to start a Texas civil war then it'll be Syria 2.0: "Migrant" Boogaloo.

Well the last time a state wanted to secede....

Civil War, I'm guessing?

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner here.

That's why you start the propaganda war now. Tell them it's their duty to disobey unlawful orders, they did not sign up to shoot Americans.....

I suppose that is one idea, turning the media and leftists' own ideologies and arguments against them, with concrete evidence to back it up. That said, I don't know what the success rate would be if we did that to just the average soldier. We might have to 'target' higher ranking officials in that instance.

Oh, they'll listen. I was in their shoes once, and I would have moral issues with it myself.

Fort Hood is huge.

pS: the military leaders turned their backs on Trump and abandoned him completely. Fuck them.

See dissolution of the Soviet Union.

There might be some disagreement about nuclear missiles and such, but other than that it should work.

Remember that Texas will not go alone. There are other states, it will be a chain reaction. And I am sure that if for example Texas and Florida secede they will immediately form a new Union to attract even more states.

Like in the civil war, the Federal Army in the South essentially completed converted into the Confederate army

I hate to break this to you, but any talk of secession at this point would be a very short lived pipe dream. If the system is so corrupt - any attempt would be crushed militarily within seconds of going live. It's not the 1700/1800s anymore. Secession was a very plausible thing back 200 years ago, now not so much. What you see is what you get. I know this is hard to understand or believe, but trust me when I say you won't need to secede... watch.

1
DarKenn [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

What would I need to watch?

1
CrimsonSentinal 1 point ago +1 / -0

Just watch, you'll see. Damn, kids today, always in need of instant gratification. Your parents obviously never told you that "good things come, to those who wait."

1
DarKenn [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I was asking legitimately. I just want clarity, don't be vague. Besides, we don't even know each other's ages.

2
CrimsonSentinal 2 points ago +2 / -0

No worries, I wasn't intentionally being vague. If I had all the answers I would tell you. But what I do know is secession would never be allowed to take place and would immediately fail even it were. It might work if Texas was an island unto itself like Hawaii for instance or even Alaska because of it's physical isolation from actual U.S. borders. Hold the line pede. I know it's frustrating and the emotional rollercoaster can be tiring at times. No one said life would be easy.
