A lot of people are saying this. A LOT. I want to play devil's advocate. ...No, I'm just going to come out and say I think it's not a good idea. But I'm open to reason.
And I know some will say this is a pointless conversation, because elections don't matter... That's relative. Trump still won FL and OH, for instance. He won overall in 2016. I'm not giving up because a few counties nationwide were corrupted enough this time. On to the issue at hand:
Thinking purely about getting results, and what is the most effective way to achieve those results-- AOC & crew didn't start a socialist party. They galvanized enough people and won their little elections, and they're well on their way to taking over the Democrat Party. Likewise, Trump himself knew it was the only way when he ran in 2015. He wasn't chosen by the GOP establishment... He won by the strength of our support, not theirs.
In my opinion, party label means practically nothing. It's people who betrayed us, not the elephant. Going 3rd party just guarantees we lose. We can't assume all 74 million Trump votes will abandon the GOP. The fact is that most Trump supporters are not online all day informing themselves about the daily ins and outs of politics like we are. A lot of them voted for him in both elections as the lesser of two evils, or purely because he had an R by his name. I'm sure you personally know a lot of these people in real life.
We need to do better in the primary season. People are half asleep during primaries and local races, but now we want to complain about the party? Good people need to run GOP and we need to do our best to help them. That's it. I believe in terms of actually getting results in the future, the worst thing we can do is splinter the MAGA movement. Look how the Libertarian party has been taken over by idiots. Calling a candidate a Patriot means nothing.
Like I said, this is just my line of thinking as far as strategy goes, and I'm open to persuasion as far as what will actually work. It just shouldn't be an emotional reason based on how angry we are at McConnell.
The reason Trump could be successful with a 3rd party is because he can absorb most/all of the GOP's base due to his influence being president, and doing that he could win states that do not employ the same vote rigging features other states did during the 2020 election. IE Dominion/Mail-in voting. He should make his new party target Texas first because Texans would 100% back him and he may even absorb a few democrats along the way.
Yeah, we should definitely follow Trump's lead, in general. If he started the party himself, that would definitely shake up the equation. It would still be hard to peel off every single vote the Republican party gets, and we need every single vote we can get.
The president of Mexico did it, that's how he won the presidential elections after having 2 elections stolen with his old established party. If AMLO did it, why not Trump:
Trump is vastly more popular with americans than AMLO is with mexicans.
Trump has more resources than AMLO
Trump has bigger balls than AMLO
Trump has more loyal people that would be willing to help with that than AMLO had.

I think right now you have the momentum to establish a powerful new party, you have the righteous anger of millions against the establishment, AMLO had that momentum, people sick of the same bullshit of the establishment, AMLO bombarded mexico with ads exposing the corruption earning more supporters. Right now Trump has your full attention to his next move, I think this is the perfect time to create a new party.

I think you're 100% right... make it so people WANT to come to our side like Trump did with Hispanics and Blacks. People need to know how much bs,immigration and,illegals will cost them directly out of their pockets. No jobs for THEIR kids, etc.

Agreed. At the end of the day, it's ideas that tip the scale in elections. Ones that are fair enough, obviously. People switched from voting Dem to support Trump because they liked him. We need good, talented, tough people to run. That's a bigger problem than what we call ourselves.

Party split tried a few years back in Canada. Reform Party split from Conservative Party. Conservative vote split, Liberals won elections, easy-peasy! Reform and Conservatives reunited and voila! Conservatives won next election ushering in the Stephen Harper era.

Definitely should not start a third-party. You’re only guaranteeing the dems stay in power if you do that. Besides, why go to that much trouble when we already have a party with all the money and huge existing infrastructure, Why should we just handle that over to them and start from scratch with none of those things? It makes a lot more sense to take back our party! We put all her efforts into voting out the RINOs And voting in people who represent what we stand for.

Dan Bongino talked about this today. The GOP has all the infrastructure in place and MAGA is a large part of the GOP. To venture out as a new party will just split conservatives and result in no wins ever. Of course now that election fraud is ok, who knows if there will ever be another legitimate election but I suppose trying is better than not trying. Idk anymore.
