We are all disappointed with how Trump's 1st term ended. We're feeling down, betrayed (by the GOP), confused, etc. I'm with you. I just can't help having the feeling that there's unfinished business yet. It just doesn't feel "over".

So I'm thinking of similarities between Trump and Jesus. Not a comparison, per se, just some similarities. Bear with me a moment.

  1. Both left a life where they had everything to serve man.
  2. Both were reviled by the establishment.
  3. Both were loved by the people.
  4. Both were blamed for things they did not do, and were not credited for things they did do.
  5. Jesus was neither a Pharisee nor a Saducee, just a Jew. Trump was neither a Democrat nor a Republican (he ran as one, but didn't really fit in), just an American.
  6. Both left the expectations of some of their followers unmet.
  7. When their ministry/term ended, hope seemed lost for those who followed them.

There may be more similarities, but that's what came to mind.

Now, Jesus actually died and lay three days in a tomb before His plan really took off. His followers had a lot of hard work to do, but they did it and they changed the world.

Trump has gone back to Florida and said he'd see us soon. I'm just not ready to give it up yet. Call me a fool, if you like. I'm gonna give it a few days and see what happens. Why militarize DC? Why deputize 2000 troops as Marshalls? So many questions "why". There was a reason for all this popcorn.
