For various reasons, we all wish that Pence did other actions than he did. There are other things which could have been done. This is true for everyone involved in the Elector process. Pence is only human, he will make mistakes, he will get bad or incomplete advice.
However, Pence has no such superpowers in the US Constitution. All the "Pence rejecting Electors crap" was shit legal and shit strategic advice. I was one of the first if not THE first on the DOM and elsewhere to say so; since all those "congress critters objecting crap & pence crap" comes from the 1887 Electoral Count Act which is wholely unconstitutional as it violates the process written in ink and parchment in Article 2 of the US Constitution.

So you admit that there are already unconstitutional laws that have been passed and we are already functioning on a system that is no longer based in the constitution. Therefore arguing "Pence doesn't have the constitutional power to do this" is a moot point because we are no longer playing by the book anyway. Very often (in the real world), the more (other branch political) 'pressure' put on a court, the more the court will resist in the OTHER direction (kind of like being stubborn to prove a point). It's extremely counter-productive (poltically and legally). In the "famous" cases like Roe v Wade where you'll see pictures of "activists" or politicians "putting pressure" on the court; that's just cover-noise, the (political) court was already going to issue its political ruling that way in the first place (hence why they chuse to take up that particular case, with the particular grounds, etc.) As I said in my legal-case comment above, that's the real Marbury v Madison appellate-game played (of move the goal-posts), not "judicial review" establishment, which was already established before the Constitution was even written.

Exactly, this is one of the key top problems since 2015 to today in 2021. Like Bill Clinton going in and cleaning out all US Attys too. See, there's a two-fold problem as you might note in much of my comments. There's the marxism problem. And there's a corrupt problem. Or I usually write Commies & Criminals. One thing about the Constitution; is non-legislative processes for the House and/or Senate (like what is written for congress that isn't written in Article 1) is not a legislative process. So in peach mints or Electors; there is no "normal" chambers process (all that theatre in peach mints 1.0 particularly in the House, not how it's written in the US Constitution. All the joint session Elector theatre on the 6th, not written in the US Constitution.)
The process according to the US Constitution as written in Article 2 is:
1.) Congress tells the State Legislatures the time(frame) WHEN to Select Electors.
2.) Congress says WHAT day the Electors are to meet to cast their votes.
3.) State Legislatures appoint their SLATE of Electors in this time(frame).
4.) The Electors get together in their State and write down the names of who they vote for, for POTUS and for VP.
5.) These votes by the Electors are tallied by the Electors, signed/certified by the Electors, and sealed by the Electors (think similar to how a jury votes in the jury room.)
6.) These sealed totals are sent into the seat of government aka D.C.
7.) All the sealed tally totals are opened in the joint-session.
8.) If someone gets more than half, they win; if not it goes to a contingent election.

No where in the above does the US Constition allow for:
State Legislatures get to send multiple SLATES.
State Legislatures get to appoint SLATES before the timeframe(WHEN) set by congress.
Having governors or others "certify" any sort of "election" or "electors/slates"
Give congress any powers to object or other nonsense at the joint-session.
Give VP any power over the envelopes.
Most of the bad/unconstitutional stuff comes from the 1887 ECA; and not enforcing the US Constitution as written
The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two Persons, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. Well, Pence didn't have to show up for that inauguration. There he is, just sitting there like a good RINO boy, when he could and should have been nowhere around, nor acknowledged Biden in any way. For various reasons, we all wish that Pence did other actions than he did. There are other things which could have been done. This is true for everyone involved in the Elector process. Pence is only human, he will make mistakes, he will get bad or incomplete advice.

Very often (in the real world), the more (other branch political) 'pressure' put on a court, the more the court will resist in the OTHER direction (kind of like being stubborn to prove a point). One thing about the Constitution; is non-legislative processes for the House and/or Senate (like what is written for congress that isn't written in Article 1) is not a legislative process. So in peach mints or Electors; there is no "normal" chambers process (all that theatre in peach mints 1.0 particularly in the House, not how it's written in the US Constitution. All the joint session Elector theatre on the 6th, not written in the US Constitution.)
The process according to the US Constitution as written in Article 2 is:
1.) Congress tells the State Legislatures the time(frame) WHEN to Select Electors.
2.) Congress says WHAT day the Electors are to meet to cast their votes.
3.) State Legislatures appoint their SLATE of Electors in this time(frame).
4.) The Electors get together in their State and write down the names of who they vote for, for POTUS and for VP.
5.) These votes by the Electors are tallied by the Electors, signed/certified by the Electors, and sealed by the Electors (think similar to how a jury votes in the jury room.)
6.) These sealed totals are sent into the seat of government aka D.C.
7.) All the sealed tally totals are opened in the joint-session.
8.) If someone gets more than half, they win; if not it goes to a contingent election.

No where in the above does the US Constition allow for:
State Legislatures get to send multiple SLATES.
State Legislatures get to appoint SLATES before the timeframe(WHEN) set by congress.
Having governors or others "certify" any sort of "election" or "electors/slates"

Give VP any power over the envelopes.

Clearly there was an option/plan to do so. DJT could have on the capital steps given another speech, sang songs, given a sermon, sung hymnals, had a marching band, he could have even walked into the joint-session and under power from the US Constitution done all kinds of very legal and peaceful things.
But DJT didn't, he went to the WH? or was "secured" by the Praetorians? (So if Pence blames DJT for the 6th, it's likely for these very good real reasons, not bc the violences/disorder on the 6th.)
