At least in the end, was used by the DS running Pompeo's account to keep the sheep in the barn. Right around the time Rudy cut him out, the Pompeo account started "confirming" Q on a regular basis.
I don't know what it started out as, but I think it's safe to say in the end it was used very effectively to silence the masses.
But if the masses wouldn't be silenced that would lead to false flag and complete eradication of the movement by the left sooner. The left is planning to unleash attack on MAGA anyway:
