They want the economy to get going - knowing if any longer there’s no chance. But they also want the control so they will continue with scare tactics (new variants, spikes now and again), masks, vaccines, etc.

They need to keep it around so that in 2022 they roll our covid 20 with new strain and hence mail in ballots.
